GO CARDS!!!
Wow!! The Cardinals. I can hardly believe it. Going to the Super Bowl? Honestly, I am truly amazed. When the Cardinals arrived in Arizona and they were called the Phoenix Cardinals my dad was the first in line to buy season tickets. He had those tickets until he died. What fun memories I have of attending the Cardinal games at the ASU stadium. This is what happened at my very first Professional Football game ever....
My dad had two tickets those first few seasons and they were on the east side of the stadium. Where the seats have no backs and the sun shines right on you (more like beats down on you). Mostly dad would go with with friends but I had been begging to go so he decided to let the girls go for once. Off my mom and I went! I was so excited in my 'go team' red shirt!! The energy in a huge stadium like that is very, very exciting for an (apx) 9 year old. I was ready to cheer on our Cards. It was a pretty hot day and we were right in the sun. Everything was going fine at first until I started noticing my mom not looking so well about the end of the first quarter. She told me that we had better go up higher, to the shade. I started getting really nervous then because she looked like she was going to faint or something. Someone finally noticed her and asked her if she was doing okay and she told them that she was not. They then got a security guard and he got a medical golf cart over to her. It was like a clown ambulance. Open in the back with room for a stretcher. They drove us over to first aid where they took her blood pressure and found it really low. She was having heat stroke. We spent the rest of the game in first aid until she got cooled off enough for us to go home. That was my first professional football game.
I got the opportunity to attend many more Cardinal games after that one and probably never one as exciting! No that isn't true...I really had a blast at the games with my dad and brothers and my mom. It was a really fun family thing we did together. My Dad would be so proud!
So here we are 13 years after the last game I probably ever went to and our Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl. I am so proud and happy and it is bringing back so many memories for me. I told Ryan that we have to have a Super Bowl Party and he said "awwww no, not a party?!?"

i know i never leave comments but it is pretty exciting to have the Cardinals going to the Superbowl. It's hard for me to think you were only 9 when we went to that game but you are probably right. The Cardinals came to Arizona in 1987 and we got tickets right after that. I was happy to change to the west side and sorry I missed the payment when your dad died and we lost them. About Porter's blanket. I think I have some of the material left over and maybe we can patch it the next time you come. If you could get him to only use it in bed it might last longer. Is he getting to old? Beau considered taking his to the MTC. Love ya, MOM
That is great to have those memories of your parents! Hey I'm glad you told me about your blog I didn't want to post it on facebook so I figured I would check your out and give it to you here. I hope your all doing well your family looks great!
Those are great memories. I have never been a big Sports fan, but I am very excited for the Cards to go to the Superbowl. I say, if you want a Superbowl party...have your superbowl party. Tell Ryan you have plans and he will need to make himself scarce! ;)
Maybe you should send your blog to Ellen. She is giving away 2 tickets to the Superbowl. Maybe you and I could try that mother Daughter game again. Oh, I guess you could take Ryan instead.
I wish I like sports, well really I don't wish that-Mark wishes that I liked sports. Poor man has a wife who despises the sound of any sports game on TV. In fact I must confess I don't even like going to my kids sporting events, although I do fake it for their sake.
