I want to say that I am very excited to have school be out for the summer. I hope that we can get all of our projects done early so that we can play all summer. However, I wanted to know if anyone had any methods to keep up on school work over the summer. Hayden's teacher gave him a bunch of packets to do, but I was trying to think of ways to keep him and I on track and motivated. Any ideas?
I hope that everyone has a great summer and that you make tons of forever memories!

Sera,
Your yard looks great - now come and do mine!!! As far as school over the summer we just "played" school and had Brenn teach Dallin and then switched and used the packets they sent home as part of the fun! It takes them at least a couple of weeks to catch on!!
How is Amy?
Love,
Karen
They have some great school supplies stores in Logan, but I prefer the free mothod. The library has lots of home schooling stuff-I recommend flash cards for math and the Saxon Math program. We go to the library and get books to read by each kids reading level. I always like to have one above the kids reading level book that I am reading to them, I try to read to them even if they can read for about 15 minutes a day in addition to their individual reading. Plus I do weekly spelling words from the books we are reading for the kids who can spell/write. My kids also know that we do our homeschooling right after breakfast and chores for only about 1 hour a day total so about 30 minutes per kid. Before bed is individual reading time. There you go, that is how we do summer.
Will you happen to be in the area soon for hair cuts? No pressure, my kids just have long hair, mine is uncolored and out of control, but again no pressure. I suppose I could actually drvie some place and have it done, but it has been so long.
