Lost

Ryan and I started watching Lost when he had his accident at work and was home for three months. That was August 2006. We have been dedicated fans since. The first two seasons we got to enjoy on dvd and then we watched it the traditional way...episode by episode. While I didn't always know what was going on in this show I defiantly fell in love with the characters. That is what this show was really all about.
I think that there was a lot of fluff, but it always kept me interested. I haven't faithfully watched any other show in the last 4 years.
Its funny trying to explain what is going on in Lost to a person who has never watched before. It is practically impossible! The more you say the more ridiculous it sounds. But it makes sense if you are keeping up with it! (For the most part that is ;)!
One of the best parts of watching Lost over the last four years was sharing it with Ryan. It was one of those rare shows that we both enjoyed. I also really loved to call Roy the next day and ask him what he thought of the latest episode.
Anyway, while the ending left some things unsaid it also left me with a sense of peace. That they were all together and happy at last. It was great to see all the couples together and defiantly made me cry a little. I'll miss watching this show.

Porter's 7!!!!!!

My little Porter is 7 years old! I know its a few days late but I still wanted to give him a little blog attention!! What an amazing kid Porter is! He is kind, generous, loving, funny, friendly, sincere and everything in between.

When I woke him up on his birthday he slowly started moving around and stretching and all of a sudden he opened his eyes and looked up at me and said " I'M 7!!!!...YES!" It was awesome! And that is how he is. He is just so excited about everything. About life!

Everyone loves Porter! When I go to pick him up at his school I realize how well known he is! We walk down the hall and everyone from kindergarten to 5th grade is waving hello to him and sayin' hi! Porter just soaks it up, wavin' back and pointing with both hands(like spiderman does in spidey 3.) So friendly!! He makes up for whatever he lacks in size just with his huge personality.

Here are some of Porter's favorites right now:

Food: Spaghetti

Color: Blue

Movie: Iron Man

Tv Show: Ben 10

"Pet" aka stuffed animal: 'Stitch' the bear

Friends: Mairyn and Brenden

Porter- You are one amazing kid! You make me laugh with your sing song voice, you make my day when you call me princess, and you warm my heart with your kindness. I love you more than you will ever know and I am so blessed to have you in my life! Have a great time being 7!
Love, Mom

Arizona Wedding

Congratulations to Cory and Mckenzie!!!!!
We were so lucky to be able to drive down to Arizona this past weekend to be there for Ryan's baby brother, Cory's wedding! It was just beautiful. So well put together and the bride looked gorgeous!
We enjoyed a wonderful (and HUGE) rehearsal dinner meal at Rustler's Rouste at the Pointe on South Mountain on Friday with the whole family. It was so much food!! We each got like a half of a bar-b-que chicken...literally, half. It was awesome. We had a lot of fun catching up with the family too, it is so much fun to be with Ryan's siblings and their spouses. I love each and every one of them! It'll be so fun to get to know Mckenzie better!

The Allen siblings at dinner (minus Regina and Jason and Cory and Mckenzie)

The look so handsome all dressed up!!
Porter with his cousin Kohlton

Owen with the only 2 girl cousins(out of 11!) on Ryan's side, Amaya and Kiley...go figure! He is such a ladies man, lol!

Hayden with his cousins Carson and Kade

This picture cracks me up because it was soooo hot and my poor little Utah boys were totally melting in it. They all look so miserable haha

Ryan's parents with Porter! This is a great picture of them! He just loves his Grandma and Grandpa Allen!
We really had a wonderful time in Arizona even though it was super hot! It was nice though to warm up. It snowed in Cache Valley while we were gone so I shouldn't complain about the heat too much!
It looks like Cory and Mckenzie are going to spend the summer in Utah so she can finish up with school so I really hope that we will get a chance to get to know her better and them as a couple!
Look at that she is already taking care of her man ;) haha

Boy oh Boy!!

Looks like I'm going to have to change the name of my blog....Our Four Sons and Us or Sons r' Us or I love Boys!! or something like that. That's right, what you are looking at here is defiantly another penis. Yep, right there, where the arrow is pointing. That will be the 5th penis in my house. Not that I have anything against penises, its just, you know, that's kinda alot of em. I'm basically surrounded. Now that I have offended everyone, here is our news in a tamer way. We are having another boy. A sweet, tiny, precious, little, baby penis oh, oh wait, sorry I'm meant boy. It wasn't a surprise, not really. I had been preparing myself for the news. I really knew it was going to be a little guy. I can't say that I wasn't holding out hope for a little girl but I thought all along that it was going to be a boy. I didn't even cry. I choked up...a little...but no tears. It was kinda funny because after the nurse looked at all the important stuff, heart, brain, bladder, etc. she said, "okay now for the big reveal." She scans to the appropriate area and said "any ideas??" Uh yeah, I have defiantly seen that before, I said, "Boy". I looked at Ryan and he gave me a half smile and I let out a sigh. That was it. We did have all our boys there and so she knew our situation and she kinda laughed and said, "its okay to be sad". That's when I choked up. I would have been fine if she hadn't of say that.

So, I've given it alot of thought and after talking to Roy about it for a little while he gave me some great insight. I am not really sad that I am having a boy. In fact, I love my boys. And, I already have all the stuff, I'm prepared for a boy. What I am sad about, is the fact I will never have a girl. We are pretty certain that we are done; so as Roy put it I am mourning the girl that I'll never have. I am letting go of the prom dress and wedding planning and flowers in the hair and little pink dresses. Oh great now I am going to cry...(tear) No really, I just have to let it go. People have been really supportive though and have reminded me of daughter-in-laws and even granddaughters but it really isn't the same, is it? So I just have to work through it and put the thought to rest. And I will, its fine, I'm fine...girls are super whiny anyway, right??

On a lighter note, I do have to share one funny story about the ultrasound before I wrap it up. Like I mentioned before we ended up having all the kids with us which was really cool. They all got a big kick out of it especially Hayden. But before we got there we were trying to tell them that it was really cool that they got to come with us because we got to see the baby today and we would find out what it is and things like that. Well it wasn't until we got to the Doctor's office that we realized Owen thought that we were actually going to have the baby right then. So we were quickly trying to tell him that that wasn't the case and that we were only going to see pictures of the baby. All we managed to do was confuse the poor kid. Anyway, we get in there and the nurse is getting me all prepped and squirting the jelly on my belly and I look over and Owen is getting this really worried look on his face and he covers his ears and says,"is it going to pop?". Hahahaha. Poor thing, what was going on in his little mind? Did he think the baby was just going to jump out my belly button all alien or something? And why did he cover his ears? Would that be loud? Haha. It was too cute and sooo funny. I love that kid. Such an imagination. :0)

The little guy was really squirmy during the ultrasound and he had his face planted in my placenta so we didn't really get any great pictures but here are a few of my favorites:

Little ankles crossed

Kinda sitting Indian style...you can also see his little hand.

This one is my favorite. Its of his back. I just love little babys' backs.
So sweet.
I really can't wait to meet him.

Baby Animal Days

We had such a great time at Baby Animal Days this year. I think this is the third time I've taken the kids and they had a blast! There is so much to see and do it is so fun. It is held at the American West Heritage Center, which is like a living farm from the 1800s. Every year around Easter they hold this event and they basically have tons of baby animals that you can look at, touch, hold, pet or feed. They had baby goats, horses (miniature and reg), cows, pigs, sheep, chicks, ducks, bunnies, even baby bears, and turtles. So, so cute. Not only do they have the animals they have a ton of other fun stuff. A kids rodeo, greased pull climb, the bull ride, blow-up jump houses, wagon rides, train rides, horse rides, crafts and so much more. It was such a beautiful day and the boys and I had a really good time. Owen and Porter checking out the miniature baby horse, only mama is in the pic

The boys watching a blacksmith demo. They were so fascinated!

The train ride!

Owen said he wanted the black one and he got it!!

Porter lovin' it

The boys got to pan for gold. It was only fools gold but Hayden loved it anyway!

Owen painting his rock

Love the face!!

This face too!!

Hayden wanted to ride the bull. He stayed on almost the whole time.

Owen wanted to ride too. He got on and then Porter and Hayden started to chant 'fall, fall, fall' so he let go...and I was yelling hold on!! It was cute.

We went on a wagon ride and they let us get a picture with the horses. Haha, the kids were so nervous. I love this picture!

What a great day

Oh! I just love these guys!!

Our new trampoline

We are so excited to add a new toy to our back yard...a new trampoline!! I have been wanting to get the boys one forever! I grew up with one and Ryan's mom and dad sold them so he always had one and I just knew that my kids had to have one someday too.

It is a really bad time for us to be buying one but we were able to because I sold a saddle that had belonged to my dad. I told the boys that by doing that we were able to buy this trampoline so the tramp is kinda coming from Grandpa. I think they understood the logic and I think its so cool that he, in a round about way could give them this gift.

They just LOVE it. They are outside on it all the time. Which is great for everyone. And every time I see them jump it reminds me of my childhood.

Easter

The boys had a fun Easter, at least I hope it wasn't a total bust. It ended up being REALLY cold and snowy the Saturday before Easter and we were going to go to an outdoor Easter egg hunt but I just figured it was way to cold for that and the boys would just be miserable anyway. Sooo, we went to a hunt in Logan that they had moved indoors, inside the coppermill. What a mistake that was!!

First of all the place was not equipped for the amount of people that showed up...not even close. Next, because there were so many kids and parents they decided to send the kids in to the 'hunting room' aka: a banquet room, BY THEMSELVES! So the kids go in by themselves into this room that we, meaning all the parents can't see into and do their hunt and when its over all these kids are coming out single file in between all these parents, well we are like 5 rows of parents back and we can't even see the kids. I ended up getting on a chair an watched so I could call my kids back to me. But there were parents freaking out because they couldn't find there kids, there were kids crying for their parents. It was so crazy. Then it took us like 20 mins just to get out of the building and while we were walking out their were still kids trying to get into the hunt. Poor things it was so over by then. I will never forget it thats for sure. Hayden either when we reunited he was like "get me out of here!!"

After that chaos we went to the Macey's which is a local grocery store and they had a cute little hunt. They also had some baby animals that were going to be at the 'Baby Animal Days'.

On Easter the boys got their baskets and had fun with those and then we waited for Grandma to get there so we could have Easter dinner. It all turned out fine but it defiantly was interesting!
