Finished Fence

So we hadn't really planned on finishing the fence right now but Ryan had finally had enough of our neighbors. One of their kids scratched the side of his truck. We knew it was just a matter of time but limited funds have been holding us back. Oh well, the scratch was pretty superficial thank goodness but we didn't want it to happen again. So here is our completed fence. Yes, fences DEFIANTLY make better neighbors.

Camping at Bridger Lake

Aww! Wyoming. It really is a beautiful state. Just so wide open. I had to included a couple of pictures of the wind farms...really cool! We wanted to go camping before the kids went back to school and just picked a site out of our Utah map. We chose a little lake on the border of Utah and Wyoming about 3 hours from where we live. We had never been there but wanted to give it a shot.
It turned out so beautiful! We had a great camping trip. It was really cold while we were there and it even snowed! Can you believe that. I swear Utah doesn't regard the months or seasons with it's weather. It made for really cold nights but the scenery was just wonderful.
All the boys caught fish on the little lake. They loved it! They also had a cute board walk all the way around the lake that we walked a couple of times. Cute campground.

Yes that is snow...it ended up being about an inch all together

Owen's 4th Birthday!

My baby boy is 4! I just can't believe it!! Were does the time go? I'm sure this is reiterated by every mother everywhere, but it just breaks my heart. I love that my boys are growing and are healthy but I hate to see these young years end.
Owen is the best 4 year old. He is so full of life. He reminds me of Hayden at this age because he is so curious about everything. He is always asking "and then what will happen?" he wants to know every outcome. I wish we all had the answer to this.
He is active and has learned how to ride his two wheeler bike and likes to do "tricky stuff". I'm lucky that he wears his helmet almost diligently. One day i told him to put it on and he said..."or what will happen?" and I told him he could crack his head and he has worn it sense. How responsible.
He goes to pre-school 4 days a week and has really thrived. He loves his teachers and they love him.
Owen is a really wonderful boy who makes us laugh all the time. He loves his brothers and would follow them anywhere. We love you Owen!!!

Timpanogas Cave

While we were at the reunion we had a day to do what ever we liked, that day so happened to be my birthday so we decided to hike up to Timpanogas caves and take a tour. Very surprisingly I got a call from Regina (Ryan's sister) saying that they were in Utah and were heading north and wanted to try to meet up with us. I explained that we were in Provo having a reunion but that we were going to go on the hike the next day. Regina was thrilled because that was one of the things that she wanted to do while in Utah anyway. They ended up driving to the canyon that night and stayed in their motor home and meet us early the next morning for the hike!
It was great to spend the day with them and explore the amazing cave. The cousins loved hiking the trail together and the adults got to catch up. The cave was spectacular with all its formations. It is a must see. We also had a wonderful guide who really made the experience all the better.

Cave Explorers

See the dog?? This formation is called the St Bernard...cool, huh!

Best guide ever

Park City and Reunion

I know that I am way late on getting this stuff posted but I figure I'd rather have a post about it late than not at all. These are pictures from the Petersen reunion and from a day at park city with some of the family.
We were able to meet up at park city and take advantage of some of the really fun activities that they have available there. A lot of the extended family meet us there and it was wonderful to spend a day getting to know them better. We got to go down the alpine slides and down the coaster. The kids had a BLAST! It was a great family day together.
The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying the company of my wonderful family at the reunion! I feel so lucky to belong to a group of people that I really like!! haha! Everyone of my extended family is wonderful in their own individual ways and everyone has something to contribute. I am proud to belong.
And we were lucky to escape the weekend with only one minor head injury! ha!

Bear Lake

While Roy and Hill were up here we took them to one of our favorite places, Bear Lake. We had been building it up for months and the even more when they got up here. It really is so much fun, tons of white sand and crystal clear water. It's also like a giant wading pool, so shallow for so long. It is such a fun place.
Unfortunately and unknown to us the lake was super high this year. There were weeds everywhere and hardly any beach. It was so disappointing to not give them the bear lake that we love. All considered though we had a really fun day.

4th of July

I LOVE the 4th of July!!! It is my favorite holiday. I love everything about it...the patriotism, parades, bar-b-ques, gatherings, fireworks, flags on houses, summertime, all of it. It is defiantly my favorite time of year.
This year we were lucky enough to have my brother Roy and his sweet family up with us. I told him how much fun small town celebrations were so he came out for it. I think they had a really fun time. We did an awesome firework show! Ryan went to Wyoming to buy the good fireworks. It was such a blast! Literally! The funniest part was the rocket fireworks that we got. The first few times we tried to light them we were having the hardest time because the wick was this plastic material. It took forever to light and then it kinda dripped off until it would finally catch and take off. The first few worked okay and then we lite one and we were waiting for it to take off when the stick holding it on burned through and the rocket fell on the ground. We all just kinda stared at it not knowing at all what to do when all of a sudden it took off all over the place and flew into our neighbors fence and exploded. It was so crazy!
We got nervous after that...so ryan and roy were looking at another one of these rocket and figured out that the "plastic wick" was really just a protective cover for the real wick! We are such idiots! The rest of them went off no problem.
We had a great time at the parade, setting off fireworks and hanging out with family.
